COVID-19 policy for Patients and Visitors at Reef Orthopaedic Clinic
The Reef Orthopaedic Clinic is committed to providing a safe environment for our staff and patients.
We are monitoring the ever-changing COVID-19 situation and complying with the latest government guidelines.
In accordance with the latest directions from Queensland State Government, all our staff members are fully immunised against COVID-19. We are practising social distancing, regular hand sanitation and cleaning practices. We encourage all patients to wear a face mask if they wish to. This may become compulsory if there is more COVID-19 in the community.
All patients and visitors to the clinic will be required to check in using the Queensland Check-in App or provide their details to staff to submit to the Reef Orthopaedic Clinic Business Profile on the Queensland Check-in App.
From December 17th 2021 we will be asking for evidence of your immunisation status. This is done by linking your COVID-19 immunisation certificate from your MyGov/ Medicare account to the Queensland Check-in App. Alternatively, you may provide a copy of your COVID-19 immunisation certificate or show your COVID-19 immunisation card.
With borders reopening, the COVID-19 situation in Cairns will change and there may be many more active COVID-19 cases in the community. We will be taking extra precautions to minimise the risk to our staff and surgeons.
We prefer our patients to be fully immunised against COVID-19. All other visitors to the clinic must be fully immunised as per Queensland Government regulations.
- If you are fully immunised against COVID-19 and symptom free, then you can be seen for an in-person consultation.
- If you are not fully immunised, we request that you provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of your appointment.
- If you are not fully immunised and do not have a negative COVID-19 test, we will only see you for a face-to-face consultation in extraordinary circumstances (emergency situation). In this instance, you and all staff members dealing with you will be required to wear a N95 mask and eye protection. The cost of this equipment will be added to your consultation.
- We are happy to provide Telehealth consultations in many circumstances.
Please see www.qld.gov.au for further information and updates as the recommendations may change.
Thank you for your assistance and understanding in these unusual times as we navigate the pandemic together.
